This title about Marian Anderson is to be released in May, but it has already received starred reviews. Keep an eye out for it. I'm certain it will be one to consider.

Excellent book! Well-researched and informative. The pictures add a great deal, as do the copies of programs of her performances.
This book is a strong contender. Please read it and add your comments.
Thanks!

Very good biography. There's some great storytelling in the way he paces the events. The impact of the Lincoln Memorial concert is the heart of the book, and in leading up to it we get to know M.A. We see how she was a singer, rather than an activist, but the civil rights actions she took seem even more heroic because of this. The photo of the concert that fills two wordless pages works perfectly.
