Kathleen Krull does an excellent job of tying in historical notes throughout this diary. I wish the book allowed us to compare Anne Elizabeth's actual text with what Krull published. Krull states in the ending author note that she "added interpretations, continuity, and emotion." That made me question what parts were Krull's and what parts were Anne Elizabeth's.
It is definitely a book we should discuss, and I look forward to your comments.

I liked this book. It made me feel like I was really reading the diary of a girl from the early 20th century. But I was also a little unsure of how much of it was really written by Anne Elizabeth. I also liked the added bits of history pertaining to what was happening to Anne Elizabeth.
