I finished reading this book this morning. It was fascinating. The way the information that I learned about codes and ciphers from Janeczko's _Top Secret_ tied in with this book was neat; as a reader, I always like connections made between books I recently have read. However, Thomas Allen does a good job of explaining codes technique in this book as well. No one would have to read a different book about codes to understand this one.
I love the format of the book. The only problem with the format was how small some of the illustrative material was. While that didn't bother me, I can see it is a problem with the book.
With its well-written text, index, quote sources and various appendices, this book should be read by all participants.
Anyone else read it yet?

I read this...it ranks toward the top of my list. I think part of what recommends it, other than it being well-written, was that it took a step around the person of George Washington to view him in a uniquely different light--the Father of Our Country a spymaster?!?!?!?!?
